In a world where hair knowledge gaps persist, Styles 4 Kidz fills the void, addressing unique challenges faced by non-Black parents raising children from diverse backgrounds. This non-profit stands as a beacon of empowerment, creating a safe place to learn proper hair care for their children without judgment and criticism. Through hair care education, resources, and services tailored for children with curly + coily hair in foster, transracial adoptive, and biracial families, they equip families with the tools to bolster confidence at home. Hair fuels our identity, especially for young kids working on their self-image. The result is outstanding when they can feel confident in their hair and identity. 

“One of the most inspiring aspects of this work is witnessing the remarkable transformation that unfolds on the faces of the children served, both during salon services and in workshops,” says Executive Director of Styles 4 Kidz, Tamekia Swint. “It's a heartwarming experience to nurture their self-esteem, to watch it blossom and flourish. Externally, these transformations give a radiance and confidence that shines from within, ultimately providing them with a significant boost in self-assuredness.”

A network of skilled stylists addresses not only the physical needs of these children but also fosters hope and assistance for the parents and family members, creating a robust sense of community support.
